Welcome to the ultimate destination for dog enthusiasts and social media mavens alike. At Dogfluencers, we're passionate about showcasing the best and brightest in the world of four-legged fame.
Whether you're looking for adorable photos, heartwarming stories, or expert tips on how to turn your own pup into a social media star, we've got you covered.
Today we got the honor of interviewing Damiana (Berlius's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Andonova: Berlius was an instant in-person celeb at all the summer and fall festivals in Chicago. We couldn’t move through a crowd without people stopping to adore him. We realized I needed to get up to speed on social media so I can share just how much people love him. It’s really amazing. People either melt for him or are very nervous of how big he is in real life.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Andonova: He’s a gentle goof and just plain gorgeous. There are many Bernese Mountain Dogs on Instagram and their parents are great at social media, but Berlius is just big and burly. He towers over most BMDs, loves little pups and is the most gentlest and eager to play goofy boy.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Andonova: Initially I had no idea what I was doing. Now that I work in marketing consulting, I am thinking of how to really focus on showcasing who he is and our dynamic especially.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Andonova: Berlius doesn’t degrade, divide, or discriminate on social media. Everything we say or do is highly supportive of any way pets parents choose to parent, politics move aside.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Andonova: Order matters! If I could restart his account which I have considered, I’d love to reorganise posts from youngest to oldest in chronological order so you can see him grow. Now, it’s a mix.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Andonova: Berlius is incredibly infused into my daily life. We go everywhere together and he has mostly impacted how I care for my home and the furniture I buy.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Andonova: During the latest photoshoot, he kept following the photographer and more mirrored the photographer than listened to directions.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Andonova: That others love my dog as much as I do.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Andonova: Huge plans! We are going to redeploy his Instagram as we get ready for a website to highlight future dog shows, and his breeding services. We are going to focus on showcasing who he is so we will on continued partnering with local and National brands for grooming, poopie bags (the poofessional), poo pick up (poop 911), allergy friendly food (acana), and non-toxic floor and home care that doesn’t irritate him. We also want to partner with some sort of tracker and video surveillance when he spends time outside enjoying snow snacks.
