Today we got the honor of interviewing Fiorella (Checho's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Coras: I decided to open a Checho Instagram account so I could save some day-to-day photos. Now, we share information regarding brands we've used and love, and we also talk about responsible ownership and visibility of service dogs. Checho is my service dog.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Coras: Actually, I think it makes us different to have photos of Checho modeling. Many people may think that we forced him to model but his photographs are captured in the funniest moments. He really loves the camera and enjoy the moment. When you enter the feed you will be able to see collaborations with brands that we know and consume. also highlights of various topics

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Coras: We are always looking at the time of year we are in. We have photos on every special date of the year. We also made a moodboard regarding what we want to convey in each photo (regarding the setting) since the photos are of Checho enjoying.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Coras: Unfortunately yes. many criticize that Checho is black or criticize his breed. It has also happened to us that they think that a pug is not a service dog. However, we have always known how to overcome and show that Checho is the cutest and most loving dog in the world, very intelligent and that he has helped me a lot in the health treatment that I undergo as my service dog.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Coras: Be consistent in your publications, it is not necessary to have a professional photo session. However, the message you want to give to your community matters a lot. There are many beautiful moments but also ugly ones, it is a matter of knowing how to face them.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Coras: Checho came into my life to change it. He became my best friend, we are inseparable. He has helped me a lot with a very complicated illness that I still have. I get to restore my spirits, to show me that everything is possible from true love. It has become quite a big motivation to be able to face enormous challenges. I will never forget that during a very complicated time of my illness, he was there without leaving until I could recover 100% and continue.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Coras: Yeah! In the first photo session, they gave us a shirt to wear. We finished the photo session and he never wanted to take it off. Definitely, I could tell he loved it and we bought the shirt. When we got home he wanted us to take it off. Also, he is always loving with the photographers and ends up showering them with kisses at the end of the photo session.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Coras: Being able to meet more people in the community. share ideas and have been able to create a space for social help to shelters.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Coras: In April we will be able to announce an initiative that we have been working on for several months. Those favored will be those abandoned pets. also more collaborations with brands and promotional discounts.
