Today we got the honor of interviewing Rebekah (Cissa's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Bond: Cissa is our first puppy so it’s a huge and new adventure for us and it’s really something we wanted to document and share with everyone. She also got very ill as a puppy… thankfully she pulled through and after that we really wanted to share her story.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Bond: Cissa is a very quirky pup, she has a very expressive face it’s rather funny. She is still learning a lot of things and is still young, so it’s fun to share that day to day progress.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Bond: Honestly? She does something herself every day that’s inspiring to my content, she is very derpy and I try to keep the content funny because she is always making us laugh.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Bond: I’ve encountered a few negative comments on reels in the past. I either decide to not respond or respond with kindness. If comments are rude or aggressive, I usually decide to delete those comments. They have no space on my page as the page is meant to be fun loving and positive.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Bond: Do it! It’s such a fun time, it’s like having a memory or scrapbook for your pup but online. I have met so many incredible people thanks to Cissa's page and made some amazing long term friends. Don’t put pressure on yourself, it’s not about the following count, it’s about how it makes YOU feel and if it brings you positivity and sunshine to your day.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Bond: Cissa makes my life better every day and not just because she is the sweetest lil thing in our life. Since I got a pup, my sleep schedule has gotten a lot better, my workout routine as we walk multiple times a day. She keeps routine in my day and she brings so much joy.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Bond: When we first got Cissa, she thought my fluffy slippers were her littermates so she would put her head inside and sleep on them. It was hilarious and sweet at the same time. I guess those slippers are hers now!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Bond: Meeting new people and making amazing friends, the community is honestly the best.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Bond: We have something exciting happening later in 2024, but unfortunately I can’t share because that would spoil the surprise, haha! It will impact both us and Cissa, positively (we hope!)
