Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Sharma: Becoming a dog influencer was unexpected. It all started naturally. When we got our first dog, Shibu, we created his Instagram to share his cuteness. Initially, we were just proud pet parents, not taking it seriously. But as people started liking and following us, we realized its potential. We began posting regularly and engaging with our community.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Sharma: What sets Shibu apart on social media is his distinct personality. Unlike most dogs, he's not food motivated and isn't keen on cuddling or petting. Gaara, on the other hand, is the complete opposite - he loves food and affection. However, what truly makes them unique is their bond. As true brothers from different mothers, they're always playing together and looking out for each other. Our followers are captivated by their shared love for the outdoors and water. Whether it's camping adventures or boat rides, Shibu and Gaara are always by our side, spreading joy and excitement wherever they go. Their passion for exploration resonates deeply with our audience, making them even more endearing and relatable.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Sharma: We stay updated with current trends and make content accordingly. Throughout the day, we capture moments with our dogs, creating our content around them. As an amateur pet influencer, we strive to evolve and enhance our approach daily. Lately, we've expanded into informative content, sharing insights gleaned from our own experiences to aid new pet parents. Additionally, our photos showcase Shibu and Gaara in picturesque locales across the Niagara region and Canada, reflecting our pride in our home and love sharing the same with our social community.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Sharma: Honestly, we've been fortunate not to encounter much negativity online. We focus on creating content that spreads good vibes and makes everyone feel welcome. Of course, the occasional grumpy comments might pop up, but we don't let it impact us. We steer clear of controversial topics and negativity, focusing on fostering a friendly and respectful community.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Sharma: For those starting a dog influencer account, authenticity is paramount. Showcase your dog's unique personality and bond with honesty and sincerity. Invest in high-quality content that resonates with your audience, engaging with them regularly to build a loyal following. Consistency is key, so establish a posting schedule and stick to it. Use relevant hashtags to increase visibility, and always prioritize your dog's well-being and comfort. Above all, have fun sharing your furry friend's journey and connecting with fellow pet lovers. Enjoy the process, and let your passion for dogs shine through in every post and don't expect unrealistic results.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Sharma: Our dogs have profoundly impacted our lives beyond social media. Their presence has catalyzed numerous positive changes: our relationship has flourished, fueled by shared experiences and responsibilities. Embracing an active lifestyle, we relish outdoor adventures and cherish moments spent exploring with our dogs. Their unconditional love has shifted our perspective, fostering greater compassion and empathy towards others. Moreover, returning home from work is now eagerly anticipated, greeted by wagging tails and boundless joy. In essence, our dogs have enriched our lives immeasurably, infusing each day with love, laughter, and boundless affection.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Sharma: During one of our photo shoot, we planned to capture our dogs by the beach. However, their puppy energy had other plans. As we set up for the shot, they couldn't resist the lure of the water and bounded straight in, completely disrupting our plans. Instead of posing, we found ourselves chasing them along the shoreline, trying to coax them out of the waves. It was a hilarious reminder that sometimes, the best moments are the ones unplanned and filled with spontaneity.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Sharma: Our favorite thing about being a dog influencer is the opportunity to connect with fellow dog lovers and share our passion. It's incredibly rewarding to inspire others to cherish the bond they have with their dogs and to provide helpful tips and advice based on our own experiences. Additionally, seeing the joy and smiles that our content brings to people's lives is truly heartwarming. Being able to make a positive impact and spread happiness through our shared love for dogs is the most fulfilling aspect of being a dog influencer.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Sharma: While it's uncertain if our dream of a home with a large backyard and pool for our dogs will materialize, we remain hopeful. Our commitment to hard work and growth is unwavering, and we aspire to transition towards producing more educational content. By sharing valuable insights and lessons learned from our journey as pet parents, we hope to empower and support others in their own dog ownership adventures.
