Today we got the honor of interviewing Kymberli (Cricket's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Aeschliman: I hadn’t thought about it but people I met kept urging me to make her social media pages so I did and she was a hit!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Aeschliman: Cricket is hairless and has a sorta judgy face which draws a lot of attention haha!
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Aeschliman: It is not easy I will say that. I’m definitely not a pro. Thank goodness she’s usually doing something cute or funny so that helps!
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Aeschliman: Yes, because she’s hairless we get a lot of negative comments. I used to get upset and write back now I just ignore or delete and block. There’s no sense in taking the time to reply to someone who’s unkind enough to take the time to troll a dog account.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Aeschliman: I would say try and showcase what is unique about your pet, use good lighting whenever possible, post consistently and have fun with it.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Aeschliman: Cricket has brought a tremendous amount of joy to our family. She’s loving and makes us laugh all day long. She also keeps us very busy between trips to the dermatologist and daycare!
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Aeschliman: I can’t think of anything particular she is always so funny but I will say she’s learned to ham it up when she sees me pull out my silly rectangle (phone) because she knows she’ll get treats!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Aeschliman: My favorite thing is knowing we being some joy to peoples lives. I get so many messages telling me it is the best part of their day and it really makes it all worth it.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Aeschliman: Nothing terribly exciting just kind of growing slow but steady. However her little sister @thistlethegremlin ‘s account is growing very fast so if you haven’t seen her yet check it out she is hilarious.
