Today we got the honor of interviewing Theresa (Dozer's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Schroeder: We lost our 1 year old boxer unexpectedly and we were heartbroken. It happened just before I was going to pick up my kids from school. I contacted our breeder a few weeks later and it just so happens she was having another litter and we got Dozer in February of 2023. We decided to make an account to share the goofy Boxer breed and to save our memories somewhere!

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Schroeder: I like to use humor in our content! Dozer is mischievous.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Schroeder: I grab video clips of him each day, nothing fancy. I then get inspiration from trending audio and put something together!

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Schroeder: Don’t feed your dog onions. 🤣 I learned they’re toxic by a post I did. Whoops.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Schroeder: Start and have fun with it. Be consistent with your posts and use trending audio to help your reach.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Schroeder: We haven’t had any brand deals yet. That’s on me, I haven’t pitched. I think it’s time we start! We are in the final stages of launching our merch line, we will see how that goes!

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Schroeder: When he was a puppy, he would just quit walks. Sit down and not move. Made for some good content haha!

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Schroeder: Honestly it’s just fun for us!

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Schroeder: We are going to likely be looking to start working with brands in 2024.
