Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

I started an Instagram account for Eevee to share photos with friends & family and to document her milestones and growth. I mainly used Instagram to search for training tips and cute tricks to teach a puppy. Soon after, I discovered how large the online dog community is so I began following and connecting with other dog accounts in the city. I never would have thought her account would grow to this extent and have the opportunity to work with so many small businesses!

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

One thing I think sets Eevee apart from other dogs on social media is her breed. Eevee is a Border Collie and Miniature Poodle mix (bordoodle) which is not very common in Canada! She is a mix of two highly intelligent and energetic breeds so I have received many messages from people looking to get a bordoodle and asking for advice on how to care for one.

I tend to write captions in both my own and Eevee’s perspective; some people hate reading captions as if a dog is talking, but I think it’s a cute way to showcase her personality a bit more. I hope this makes Eevee’s Instagram posts more interesting to both new and existing followers!

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

I look to other dog content creators for inspiration and usually search for reel ideas and trending audios. I don’t have a specific creative process and often just post whatever I feel like at the moment! Right now, I’m really into creating stop motion reels but maybe next month I’ll find something new to try. In the near future, I plan on writing more captions sharing both the ups and downs of being a dog parent. I want to be as authentic as possible since it is so easy to compare ourselves to others on social media.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Fortunately, I have not experienced any negativity on social media and I hope it continues that way!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Don’t take it too seriously and just have fun! Enjoy all the moments spent capturing photos and videos of your dog, it’s a fun way to bond together! Don’t focus on the number of likes and followers and post what makes you happy!

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Working from home has caused me to have minimal social interaction and exercise during the day but ever since getting Eevee, that has completely changed! I exercise at least two times a day now and since Eevee is a huge social butterfly, I have met so many people while out for walks or at the dog park. Eevee’s appearance is usually the conversation starter, so many people try guessing what her breed is! Eevee makes me so happy and has overall changed my life for the better. She is my whole world and I am unashamedly obsessed with her.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Whenever we shovel the snow from the deck in our backyard, Eevee goes absolutely wild! She does these crazy backflips and spins when we toss snow in the air! She has so much fun and I always try filming her when she does this. We live in a city that gets snow the majority of the year so I’m super happy she loves the snow!

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

My favourite thing about being a dog influencer is the community and getting to connect with other dog parents! Everyone I have met in person and online has been super kind and supportive!

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

No major projects in the works, but I’m hoping to have more brand collaboration opportunities and to continue to grow Eevee’s following!
