Today we got the honor of interviewing Caitlin (Fergus & Duncan's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Wiens: Fergus naturally received a lot of attention when he was a puppy, people kept asking me if he had any social media accounts so I figured I would make one. Once Duncan joined the family, I wanted to share the bond that has formed between the two brothers.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Wiens: We think dog accounts provide an inclusive, friendly, and positive space for people who share a love of all things furry! I rarely see anything negative or generally mean on our accounts and I love that.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Wiens: Often, it’s watching Fergus and Duncan living their best lives that captures some of the best content!

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Wiens: I rarely receive any negative comments or challenges. In some cases, some people will tell you how to care for your dog but we keep our responses positive. If you don’t have anything nice to say, please move on.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Wiens: Network. Network. Network. It’s amazing to see how many friends the boys have made through social media. They have more friends than me!

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Wiens: My dogs are my whole life. I work for them, I wake up for them. Every day I do my best to ensure they have an incredible day. They don’t have as many days as we do, so it’s our job to make the most of their lives for them.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Wiens: Every photo shoot produces a lot of laughs. Duncan won’t let Fergus take photos without him anymore but he often won’t want to put on outfits, so he will hide and wait until the camera is out. Then he will run in for the photo, naked.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Wiens: My boys: Fergus and Duncan.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Wiens: We are always looking for the next brand/companies that are spearheading changes in the pet industry.
