Today we got the honor of interviewing Stephanie (Flynn's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Ivankovich-Shy: She has an incredible story of resilience. I wanted to share her story to inspire people to never give up on themselves or their dogs.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Ivankovich-Shy: She is genuine. She has a real, inspiring story. She is authentic and wholesome.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Ivankovich-Shy: I just show her living and loving life!
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Ivankovich-Shy: Yes, I will reply or I won’t. Usually just hope to inspire even through negative comments.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Ivankovich-Shy: Be authentic. It’s not about show, it’s about storytelling.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Ivankovich-Shy: She is my best friend! Her story was picked up by Newsweek, Daily Mirror, and tons of podcasts. She inspires me to never give up!
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photoshoots or adventures?
Ivankovich-Shy: We live in the desert. One time I was filming her just laying down outside and I noticed the birds were chirping frantically. I stepped by and there was a snake a few feet away! A big long scary one!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Ivankovich-Shy: Telling everyone Flynn’s story of overcoming paralysis and fighting and beating cancer. Inspiring others to never give up. Making real connections. I was a journalist several years ago and I feel like I can still tell stories (her stories) through social media, and it’s empowering.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Ivankovich-Shy: Every day is a blessing for Flynn as a cancer survivor. Every time I make a reel or take a photo is a blessing! There’s no big plans, but we hope to inspire as much as we can!
