Today we got the honor of interviewing Missy (Daphne & Bijou's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Carmichael: I started posting on Instagram pics of my dogs on my personal account in the early days of IG. I was surprised at how many people would “like and comment” on their pictures. I decided to rename the account and have it be just about them. After a while I would receive inquiries about having the pups model items or try out products. It has led to many great opportunities and also I have made great friends along the way.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Carmichael: I think my fur babies have a special blend of cuteness, fashion, sense of humor and also some niche pop culture references that resonates with people.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Carmichael: I try to just go with what comes to me as it comes. Some things are planned out, but a lot of our content is more organic.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Carmichael: Sure, I think anyone who is on social media has at times. When it comes to negativity, I try to not let it upset me and delete/block anything derogatory.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Carmichael: I always tell people to have fun with it. Make the account about you and your pets' personalities. Try not to take it too seriously.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Carmichael: My pets are my main source of joy and make me a better person every day. I want to make sure they have the most fulfilled and happy life with me.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Carmichael: Daphne is known for having a strange-sounding bark and noises. She especially does them when she is getting a bath. So I make sure to record a quick video of it each time for our friends and followers.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Carmichael: I think my favorite thing is building relationships with other pet companies and pet parents.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Carmichael: We will continue to have our quirky content that people have loved over the years!
