Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Mendelson: We were inspired to share our story for a few reasons. We are a fulltime RV family, wanted to share the BTS of our travels and at the same time encourage others to take their dogs with them on adventures. We believe in not leaving the dogs behind. They love to explore to!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Mendelson: Folsom lives full time on the road. Always in a new part of the country and heading out on new adventures.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Mendelson: Based on stats and our lifestyle. We share things from the road and continue to develop content based on what people like to see. Ex Training a husky!
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Mendelson: Of course! Social media has its ups and downs. We always try to meet the negativity with a positive outlook. We always provide space for people to provide their feedback but don’t let it get us off track on sharing our message.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Mendelson: Pick a niche! First everyone loves cute dogs so share away but if you want to grow pick a focus- adventure, training, food, etc helps you really build a bigger more engaged audience.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Mendelson: He’s truly our best friend. He takes care of us as much as we take care of him and is our number one adventure buddy. He sure keeps us active!!! Couldn’t be more grateful.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Mendelson: Folsom loves ski resorts!! He goes with us every weekend and the last time we went we tried getting cute pics of him in front of the mountain. But his favorite thing in the world is kids and dogs! Well they came walking up and folsom absolutely refused to take pics until they pet him, so he tossed himself on his back and howled until the whole mountain noticed, laughed, and came over to pet him. Photos failed but he had the best day.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Mendelson: Connecting with other dog influencers! We love this community and have met so many new friends.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Mendelson: Yes! We are working on a top secret project 😉 giving people resources to add more adventure to their life with their dog.
