Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
I've always been the person who shares "too many" dog photos to my friends and family, so I decided one day to share some cute videos to TikTok too! I quickly realized how much people enjoyed the tiny and giant dog combo, so I continued posting videos of our Great Dane and our Chihuahua. As I continued posting, I found a great community of pet lovers, and decided to expand to Instagram and YouTube as well!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
I think the size difference is most intriguing to people! I get asked a lot how they get along and what the introduction process was like.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Most of our posts are inspired by genuine tidbits from our life. Anytime they're doing something silly, I pull out my camera. Even before I started posting videos of them to social media, I would record or take pictures of just about everything they did.
Anything that I don't get on camera, I can still share by talking about it, and usually fellow dog parents will find it relatable because their dog has done something similar! If I'm feeling uninspired one day, usually all I have to do is just think back on all the silly things they did that day and I'll immediately have content ideas.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Negativity online is definitely something that every content creator is faced with. People will say that if you can't handle the hate comments, that you shouldn't share public posts, but that's not fair. I love creating content and I'm so grateful for the opportunities and the community of people I have found. I would never give that all up because of hateful comments or posts, but I can still struggle with it.
I try to approach negative comments with a reasonable approach. I don't want to dismiss all of them, because sometimes criticism is good and I'll realize that something I posted didn't quite come across as the way that I intended for it to. However, if the comments are about my physical appearance or assumptions about the kind of person that I am, I'll remind myself that these are just strangers (most of which don't even follow me) and they're making these negative remarks or assumptions from a 15-30 second video, and it takes a lot longer than 30 seconds to get to know someone.
Plus, I'm not everyone's cup of tea, and that's okay too!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
My #1 piece of advice would be to just start posting! What's the worst that can happen? You wind up with a social media page full of your favorite pictures and videos of your dog?
Social media can be difficult, but it can also be amazing, so don't let it be intimidating.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
My dogs have influenced my life in so many ways, but the most important one has to be the way their unconditional love has affected me. If I'm feeling lonely, all I have to do is pat my lap and I'll get snuggles and kisses. If I'm feeling sad, all I have to do is pick up a toy and I'll be laughing in no time. If I'm feeling like I'm not good enough, I remember that I'm their entire world! Having Paisley and Britney has gotten me through some of my hardest times, and I'll forever be thankful for them.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Paisley is incredibly sneaky. She always waits until the perfect moment to sneak away and get into something she's not supposed to. I was filming a video for O.T.I.S, and I turned away from her for just a few seconds to check the settings on my camera. When I looked back her way, she had managed to silently sneak over to the other side of the trail and had her head in the bag of bison lung treats, scarfing them down as quickly as she could! She's definitely the type of dog you always have to keep your eye on, but how good she is as not getting caught always reminds me how intelligent she is!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
The amazing support I've received! I have had so many opportunities that I would have never even dreamed of, and they all only happened because of everyone who has supported me.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
I'm not sure, but it's never a dull moment with my dogs, so I'm sure they've got something wild planned that I don't even know about yet!
