Today we got the honor of interviewing Charlie (Phizz's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Hex: I lost my 16yr old dog Rockstar just before Christmas and I was crushed. I didn’t think I would ever get another dog but Phizz came up on a rescue site in need of a foster home. I started sharing our journey in hopes to inspire more people to foster and everyone instantly fell in love with him and his wonky ears. We started getting offers to test food and products and phizz the influencer just formed from there. In regards to the fostering we ended up adopting him last week on his birthday

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Hex: He’s a small patterjack with a big personality and we joke that he’s got one patterdale ear and one jack russell ear which everyone finds adorable. Because he had a rocky start in life and he’s had three owners and been in rescue care twice people love to see that he’s landed on his paws this time

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Hex: We really don’t have a strategy or anything like that he’s just full of quirks and personality and he’s really intelligent so we just started documenting his cute pics and funny antics and people love to see it

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Hex: I have a pretty big following myself but Phizz is new to the social media game. Our followers are all really lovely people so we’ve not had any negativity but we’re not the kind of people to let it bother us if we did

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Hex: Don’t take things so seriously. Dogs are amazing and people just love to see them being themselves. Think of them as memories to look back on rather than “content” and just enjoy the moments. Anything that comes along with it is a bonus

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Hex: He’s massively helped me start to heal after losing Rockstar and it’s opened my eyes to how much pressure rescues are under with the ever growing demand to rehome dogs. I cannot thank aireworth dogs in need enough for everything they do. He’s got some issues we’re working through so I’ve been getting clued up on training but basically this dog has become my personality now and he’s all I talk about lol

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Hex: I was decorating upstairs and when I came down I couldn’t find him in his usual spots and he wasn’t answering to my calls. I walked into the kitchen and saw he’d climbed up onto the table to lay in the spot of sunshine coming through the window like a cat. People loved that video. I had no idea he would be able to get up there as he’s only small

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Hex: Just making memories with him and getting to see him come out of his shell. I love seeing him living his best life after a shaky start and I’m so proud of his progress

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Hex: I’d just been sharing him on my social media but he’s become popular enough to have his own page and now he’s officially ours it seemed like the right time so we’re just going to enjoy it and see where things lead
