Today we got the honor of interviewing Julia (Daisy's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Cornelsen: Daisy came home on March 21st 2024! She was only 6.5 weeks old. Daisy is a full golden retriever! We currently reside in Tennessee! I was inspired to start her influencing career because I am a college student and there is a stigma behind college students not being able to properly take care of a dog, especially a puppy! We love to promote products and brands that are clean and provide health benefits for pups to live long lives as well! Daisy is now 4 months old and loves to swim, run and play fetch!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Cornelsen: I could be bias but I think Daisy is a cutie pie! Her cuteness and energy in our videos I think captivates our audience!
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Cornelsen: Typically, I get inspiration from other creators or just come up with the ideas myself! Being young and constantly surrounded by social media I am typically aware of trends and trending music to promote and create content!
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Cornelsen: I always say to spread kindness, even if it is not received! We try not to get discouraged by negativity on our profiles and remind ourselves that we do this because we enjoy doing it!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Cornelsen: I would recommend never giving up (as cliche as it sounds!) Everyone told me this started out and I didn’t not believe them at first, but now i wholeheartedly believe it! It can be discouraging at times, but the more work you put in, the more you will get out! I also would recommend interacting and supporting other creators! Because they are most likely in the same situation you are!
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Cornelsen: My dog has saved my life. She adds such a light to my day and always is so happy to see me. It’s important to remember that dogs may be apart of our lives for just a portion, but we are apart of their WHOLE lives.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Cornelsen: Oh Daisy! I feel like we have a funny moment or two almost daily! I think the funniest moment was when we were taking photos of her with some puppy peanut butter! I turned around for 1 second and when i turned around her entire head was stuck in the jar!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Cornelsen: I love the community that it brings you! We have met so many other online creators through platforms such as TikTok and Instagram who are dog influencers and it is such a wonderful and supportive community!
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Cornelsen: We have a couple collaborations in the works! We are also working on a giveaway with a couple brands here in the future! Stay tuned for more!
