Today we got the honor of interviewing Lindsay (Winston's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Porter: Winston is going to be an extra large Newfie and he’s gorgeous. I’m also a first time big breed owner so I wanted to share that experience too. We live in Colorado and loving being outside. Seemed like the perfect mix!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Porter: Winston’s dad is 170 pounds and I think he will be the same. I’ve been told he is particularly smart for the breed and is fast at picking up new tricks. He has 3 human brothers which keeps things interesting! And then living in the foothills of colorful Colorado makes for beautiful scenery and amazing access to adventures!!
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Porter: I use daily situations for our content and then try to make it humorous and playful.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Porter: Not yet!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Porter: Consistency is key!
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Porter: It motivates us to get out of the house more!
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Porter: We took Winston to Estes Park and it was impossible to walk more than 3 feet without being stopped for pets and questions. He was very popular!!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Porter: I really love photo editing and content creation.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Porter: We are working on building up hiking stamina for the summer camping season and looking for oops to collaborate with outdoorsy brands.
