Today we got the honor of interviewing Ava (Henry's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Harrold: I created Henry’s Instagram just for fun, but really started posting in 2021 because I loved photography. One day, I just posted a reel of him outside, and it took off. It got so many likes, and lots of people were commenting about how adorable he was. I think that is when I really started to pursue being a dog influencer.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Harrold: I think Henry is different from other dog accounts because you never know what he’s going to post. Sometimes I might make a reel with his doggy siblings that I recently inherited due to my grandma's dementia, Herman and Darcy. Other days, I might post a photo or collab. I think people just love the variety his account offers!

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Harrold: Honestly, I just follow certain trends on Instagram and TikTok. I usually try to post a reel or photo at least once a day. Sometimes, I like to incorporate holidays into his content, like the one time I dressed him as an Easter bunny.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Harrold: Yes. Recently, one of Henry’s reels reached over 300,000 likes. This was a great accomplishment, but of course, some negative comments came along with it. Usually, the few negative comments I receive I try to just ignore them and not worry about what their opinion is. After all, I have so many true and kind followers.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Harrold: The advice I would give them is to just go for it! I have suffered from anxiety for many years and have always looked to Henry as an emotional support dog. Being a dog influencer allows me to not only post Henry but to share my life with my other two dogs. It truly is the best community.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Harrold: My dog has influenced my life in so many ways outside of social media. Henry helps me cope with my anxiety a lot. He has inspired a possible career path for me. He is such an inspiration.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Harrold: One of the most memorable moments I have had with my dog during a photo shoot was probably during his patriotic dog photo. I dressed him up with a little hat and some patriotic flower leis. It was such a cute photo shoot. I think it is probably my favorite still to this day.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Harrold: My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is just getting to do what I love. I love photography and animals. It is such a dream come true!

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Harrold: I am always looking forward to working with companies on Collabs and always posting new content. I can’t wait to share some of the upcoming things.
