Today we got the honor of interviewing Abby (Herman & Marty's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here and here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Croell:We started sharing our dogs’ stories on social media when we got Herman as an 8 week old puppy. He was too cute not to take thousands of pictures and videos of, and I figured what better way to show him off than to make him a TikTok and Instagram. Once his videos started getting more traction and views, I started to take posting more seriously and consistently posted daily for over a year. We got Marty about a year after Herman, and we hit the ground running with his socials!

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Croell:Herman and Marty both each have their funny little quirks. They both have really interested coloring unlike most dachshunds, and we love to be creative with video ideas to appeal to a specific audience.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Croell: We usually just follow trends and try to incorporate the dogs in somehow! There is no rhyme or reason to it, we like to create whatever we are feeling.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Croell: No! How can you hate on two adorable wiener dogs?

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Croell: Do it! The best time to start posting was yesterday. Get over the fear of being judged and just start posting. It will 100% be worth it.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Croell: Both Herman and Marty have taught us what unconditional love is! They are the most loving boys. They have also taught us to be responsible and how to take care of something other than ourselves.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Croell: Something that stands out is when we first brought Marty home, Herman was SO scared of him (even though Marty was an 8 week old baby) and he lost his mind absolutely terrified of the new puppy. Another funny one is that Marty once got recognized on his moms dating app 😂

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Croell: There are so many things! The community that we have grown has been truly remarkable, it’s sometimes strange knowing that so many people know and have seen our dogs. At the end of the day we just love spreading happiness and wholesome content out on the internet.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Croell: Let’s just say Herman and Marty have….. Big Wiener Energy 👀
