Today we got the honor of interviewing Christy (Jack's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Lui: Having had friends and family that spanned across the globe, we wanted to share Jack’s life and adventures with them - I was initially using it to document his progress on his tricks and general training for my own records, and figured it was a good way of sharing them as well!

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Lui: With Jack being mixed breed and treat driven, he has the energy to learn some pretty extravagant tricks, with a good balance of otherwise napping all day - our followers often love seeing both sides of him! Additionally, being London and UK based, we often explore new and upcoming dog-friendly spots in form of reels and our blog.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Lui: We always try to come up with our own unique twist to trends and some ideas that showcase Jack’s personality in one way or another - there’s no specific process per se, as we tend to go with the flow of what our audiences may enjoy!

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Lui: We have had our fair share of negative comments, be it people being assumptive or outright rude calling him awful things - we generally tend to either delete or block them out, as we like to keep our little community as positive as we can! We work hard to give Jack the best possible life and that’s all that matters to us, ensuring that he’s happy and comfortable.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Lui: If you want to grow your account, consistency is key! Stick to a theme you enjoy and ensure it’s maintainable! Don’t overthink it, sometimes something you may consider simple could one day exceed your expectations tenfold.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Lui: The dog community has really been so heartwarming and welcoming - we have met so many friends who understand the highs (and lows) of having a dog, we have exchanged experiences, created new ones and learnt so much from so many other dog parents!

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Lui: When he went to the beach for the first time, he went absolutely mad rolling in the sand, squirming like crazy, accompanied by bursts of zoomies and also eventually making a handful of new friends who they had a nice run around with! It is one of our favourite memories as it followed with him enjoying a little tub of doggy ice cream and he just looked so happy. It really wore him out for the next few days!

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Lui: It would have to be discovering businesses (big and small) and experiencing new things that we would not have usually gone for or have been able to previously afford. A close runner up would be seeing people’s reshares of our reels and their kind comments, it always warms my heart to hear people can relate to our content or that they love our sweet pup just like we do!

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Lui: We are working towards hopefully travelling more frequently, to allow jack to explore more of the big, wide world! There are also many dog friendly experiences on our bucket list we would love to tick off.
