Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Amanna: I have always wanted a German Shepherd because the breed has always fascinated me. They are so intelligent and have such large personalities. I laugh on a daily basis with Kelsie. Everyday she does something that makes me fall in love with her all over again. Last year I brought my dogs to a lake house and filmed her swimming and she was the opposite of graceful because she was still learning and it was hysterical. And I thought, I have to start sharing this and sharing her because she is just so amazing. And that’s how I started.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Amanna: Her head tilts to start. She literally has the best head tilts! But I think it is the diversity of the breed. So many people are scared of GSDs and rightfully so. They are big and very strong. But she is one of the sweetest, friendliest, goofiest dogs to everyone and showing that side can surprise people sometimes which makes her different.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Amanna: Sometimes I will see videos trending which is the easiest way but least creative. Mainly I come up with content but seeing my reaction to some of the things she does. I see what makes me laugh the most and then I create something or I see a moment that was very special to me that I want to share and I create it again to share.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Amanna: Oh my gosh, yes. At first it was hurtful and I would become upset behind the scenes. People can be really really vicious. I typically ignore them and do not respond and if they are completely out of control I remove them from my page. I did write back a few times in the beginning of this journey but I stopped because it was not worth my time or energy.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Amanna: To have thick skin and to be patient.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Amanna: I always say that she is one of the best decisions I have ever made. To be honest, and this is going to sound so depressing, I don’t really have any family left. So after my mom passed, it was lonely, the house was empty, and I felt lost. When I got Kelsie, she brought so much life into the house. It is almost like having another person with her big personality. She has provided me with comfort, safety, makes me smile all the time, and makes me feel like I am never alone. She is my heart.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Amanna: Oh gosh there are so many. I would say when I first got my pool (for her, literally). She would jump in and chase everyone around like jaws and I would just crack up each time.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Amanna: Sharing the beauty of this breed.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Amanna: At this point I am just trying to build my following. I do not have anything big coming up or planned.
