Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Chrenek :I never grew up with a dog as a child and wanted one for as long as I can remember. When I graduated university and finally had the lifestyle that could support a dog, it was finally time to get one!
After countless hours of research, I decided on my perfect breed; a mini Australian shepherd. I found a great breeder and finally picked up my dog, Jasper. This was 3.5 years ago now which is crazy to think about! When I first got Jasper, I knew I wanted to document all of the puppy pictures and videos so I wouldn’t forget about these special moments. I also had a lot of friends and family who wanted to get updates on him. That’s when our account, @lifewith.Jasper was born.
To my surprise, it wasn’t just my friends and family who enjoyed seeing the updates, it was nearly 30,000 other people! Our account grew in such an organic way and we continue to keep posting those picture updates and videos and now get the pleasure of meeting so many others in this amazing community!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Chrenek :I’m obviously biased, but I have to say that Jasper is one of the most unique looking Australian Sheperds I have yet to meet. He has such great colours and markings that I think many people find very intriguing. He’s also such a goofy and smiley dog that you can help but love the little dude!
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Chrenek : This is something that I still struggle with on the daily! I am by no means an expert in this space if I’m speaking candidly. For now, I continue to post and edit pictures of our daily adventures and we will also occasionally partner with brands that I really align with! We are always open to ideas so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly :)
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Chrenek : I’m one of the lucky ones so far and have not dealt with a lot of negativity! Fingers crossed it stays this way, haha!
We really try and keep our space as a positive and welcoming environment. Of course, everyone is welcome to their own opinions, we just ask that we stay respectful.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Chrenek : I would say to stay true to yourself and your own brand! You will grow your account naturally this way as people will gravitate towards accounts they align with.
Let your dog be themselves and showcase their personality. Dogs are such incredible animals and it’s so fun witnessing their individual characteristics.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Chrenek : Jasper has taught me so many things outside of social media! He has taught me patience, he has taught me the importance of getting outside, and as cheesy as it sounds, he has taught me what unconditional love looks like!
Dogs are incredible animals and have so much love to give. They have their individual needs and teach us how to care for them but also how to care for ourselves! I am very fortunate to be Jasper’s owner and I’ll always be grateful for that!
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Chrenek : There’s a series that we often post about on our instragram story but it’s actually of Jasper being incredibly lazy.
I always thought Australian Sheperds had a lot of energy but this dog never fails to surprise me. He has started a trend that whenever I take him for a walk and he doesn’t feel like moving, he will pretend to play dead. He refuses to move. I’ve even had people come up to me before and ask me if he’s ok!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Chrenek Having a space to share all of our memories together! It’s so fun to look back on and have it all in one place.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Chrenek : Perhaps some more collaborations with brands that align with us and that we align with as well! Other than that, we will continue documenting our every day adventures :)
