Today we got the honor of interviewing Melissa (Louie's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Mercado: There’s so many places and events to adventure to and we wanted to share it with the world and inspire others to join us or take one of their own.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Mercado: He has one ear constantly going up and the other down or back. He tumbles in every surface with pillows and cushions. Just makes your heart happy watching.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Mercado: Some just pop in my mind and others we prepare for. We do the 31 days of loutober like a Halloween countdown and every day is a different outfit. It’s the best.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Mercado: There’s always someone who has a negative comment. Block and delete are the tools we use. It’s really not worth a war on social media. It’s a fun and informative platform. No room for nonsense.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Mercado: Definitely do it. You can learn from someone else and also help someone who needs it.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Mercado: He sure has. He’s made me stop and take moments for myself. He soothes my soul.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Mercado: We did a shoot with Google and he walked away, did some tumbles and then went to take a nap.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Mercado: Being the one who makes a difference for someone else.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Mercado: That’s a surprise.
