Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Yaprak: I love being a dog mom and sharing experiences big or small makes a lot of difference. Especially people who newly become dog parents, they need different experiences as all dogs are different. Lupin is my second dog after our family dog and I just wanted to share good things, struggles, and everything that comes in between. At first it was because I really enjoyed that, but when people saw us and relate so much, I wanted to show more. My dog is considered a dangerous breed so the initial plan was to show that dangerous breeds are not dangerous; in fact, they are the sweetest ever. It also added so much to my journey, meeting like-minded people, nice brands that care about our dogs, and all. Even though at first, starting just to share cute dog photos, I quickly noticed that it can be more than that. And actually, after a year now, being a dog influencer is paving my career path not only as a content creator, but I'm studying to be a dog nutritionist to help more dogs in the future.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Yaprak: I believe his being a lovable goofball is good enough, but all dogs are. He is just mastering a side-eye, looking hella strong but mentally not as strong as he seems. He is the friendliest ever dog and makes everyone feel good about themselves. He knows weird tricks that are completely useless but also understands sentences even without, being taught to. Lupin is just a wonderful, good boy who knows how to play with a 2kg Pomeranian but also to wrestle with a 70kg Corso. And my favorite part, why we call him Lupin the Mini Dogo, is that, he is a rescue and he is a mix of a Dogo Argentino and a Pitbull, imagine a Dogo Argentino not 70 kg but 30 kg only but still have the total characteristic. I think him being a mix of those two wonderful breeds makes him the most special.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Yaprak: At first, it was more likely random fun stuff but now it's mostly what would be relatable to me as much as others. All dogs and dog parents are different and the way I tell stories makes people happy. Our relatable content definitely comes from the heart and now we added how I feed him and how I started with nutrition. Because I was very much overwhelmed with it at first, so when I create content, I make sure I can make the process simple for dog parents to feed their dogs. But tbh, all the ideas before they go into the script, always come to me in our daily walks in nature.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Yaprak: Having a 'dangerous breed' comes with some negativity, people are coming at you with myths, and you have to be the mythbuster. But the initial purpose is to show people how adorable and lovely these dogs are, therefore that doesn't bother me to the bit. People always find a way to comment bad stuff. Someone said, 'there is no such thing as a mini Dogo' like I made up a 'breed'. But I also have another account in Turkish language with 30k for the same purpose. At some point, you really don't care random strangers coming to you. People who have a point and can criticize properly, won't do it in a negative way. No random stranger has a right to take our peace, simply ignoring them is the best way.
