Today we got the honor of interviewing Maxito (Maxito's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Yorkshire Terrier: I created the Instagram account to keep memories. I did not think that he would be so appreciated and loved. Many people see their dog through Maxito and through the content we post.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Yorkshire Terrier: The fact that Maxito's attitude, gestures, and everything he does attract followers. I see how much he is loved and pampered by his family. Truly speaking, Maxito is special.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Yorkshire Terrier: The content is based on spontaneous ideas. If we do an ad, then we freely think of ideas beforehand so that it is natural and enjoyable. Everything is spontaneous and natural.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Yorkshire Terrier: I have not encountered any negative challenges. The only negative and sad challenges are the comments I receive from people who had a dog that looked like Maxito and are no longer in the world and somehow, they see Maxito and relieve their longing for it. It's painful. But somehow, I'm glad that Maxito brings a smile to them.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Yorkshire Terrier: Let the dog or cat be natural. To understand that it is an animal and not a human, to respond as we want to commands when we make content. Do not force where there is no place. To post spontaneous ideas, because the public appreciates natural materials, not forced ones.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Yorkshire Terrier: It's my child. All for me. I try to give him the best, to have a long life. My life is totally changed since he is here. In addition to that through my love for him, I helped many abandoned dogs. It opened a side of me that I didn't know I had. He is my boy whom I value very much.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Yorkshire Terrier: If it's about content where we have food or rewards, I often don't get to make the materials because they eat before doing what I want. It's unpredictable and I have to be on the move!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Yorkshire Terrier: He is known in the online environment, both in our city! I am proud of him! The advantages are that we receive the happiness that we transmit beyond photographers or reels.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Yorkshire Terrier: Our content is natural. We do everything spontaneously; projects appear along the way, but the main thing is that it is natural. Maxito is an influencer, happy who is generally a star of the family.
