Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Gil: When I first met Rosinha in 2019, I had no intention of adopting a dog, but I fell in love with her instantly. She became my constant companion during the COVID-19 lockdown, helping me through tough times. I wanted to share the joy she brings me with the world, so I started posting about her on social media. It started as a fun way to document our adventures, and it grew from there. Rosinha's playful and diva-like personality makes her a joy to share with our followers.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Gil: Rosinha is very playful and a bit of a diva. She has a strong personality and is incredibly affectionate. Her curious nature and love for attention and cuddles make her stand out. She adores plush toys, especially if they are bigger than her, and she loves running on the beach where she feels truly free. Her playful antics and the way she interacts with the world around her captivate our followers. We have so many funny moments together, and I love doing role plays with her; she really gets into character! Plus, Rosinha loves the camera and enjoys posing for creative pictures, which always brings a smile to our followers' faces.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Gil: Ideas often just pop into my head, especially during our daily lives and adventures. Whether it's a trip to the beach, a new toy, or a funny moment at home, I try to capture the essence of Rosinha's personality. Other times, we search for inspiration online or keep up with current trends. I also love incorporating educational and fun elements into our posts. For example, when we use some products or visit pet-friendly places, I highlight those aspects to inspire others. Our followers enjoy seeing the world through Rosinha's eyes, making every post a unique glimpse into her playful and curious nature.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Gil: Like many social media influencers, we've encountered some negativity. Initially, the online world started as a fun experiment, and it’s always interesting to see Rosinha’s personality, which is quite similar to mine, come through in our posts. I enjoy “speaking” through our pets' accounts and meeting other pet lovers. However, sometimes people don’t take jokes well and forget that behind the dog's account, there are humans. When faced with negativity, I focus on the positive aspects and the joy Rosinha brings to our lives and our followers. I remind myself why I started sharing Rosinha's story – to spread happiness and positivity. Engaging with our supportive followers and their kindness and encouragement means the world to us, and it helps us stay focused on our mission to share joy.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Gil: Be authentic and true to your dog's personality. Share moments that showcase their unique traits and the joy they bring to your life. Consistency is key, so try to post regularly and engage with your followers. Most importantly, have fun with it and enjoy the process. Your passion and love for your dog will shine through and attract like-minded people.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Gil: Rosinha has been a constant source of joy and companionship. She brightens my days. Her playful and loving nature has taught me to appreciate the small moments and find joy in everyday life.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Gil: One of my favorite memories is the first time I took Rosinha to the beach. I decided to do a little photo shoot and, as I was taking pictures, I jokingly said, "Rosinha, pose and smile!" To my surprise, she opened her mouth and made the cutest pose. It was like she understood exactly what I wanted. That moment perfectly captured her playful and intuitive nature.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Gil: My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is the connection we build with our followers. Sharing Rosinha's adventures and seeing how much joy she brings to others is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy the sense of community we've developed with fellow dog lovers.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Gil: We have some exciting plans for the future! We're looking to collaborate with more pet-friendly brands. We also plan to explore more pet-friendly destinations and share those adventures with our followers.
