Today we got the honor of interviewing Lorren (Loki's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Francis: At first it was my love for photography, then that progressed into showing the life of a reactive dog and making people feel less alone then educating people about reward-based training. Now my content is a mix of everything, including reactive dog-friendly places to stay.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Francis: Reactivity & reward-based.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Francis: Nothing in particular 🥰
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Francis: Often-ish, most of the bullying we face comes from people who haven’t educated themselves and still believe in outdated training methods or false information, and bias.. you win some you lose some 😅
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Francis: It depends on what people are interested in, but when it comes to content, always put your dog first, educate yourself on dog body language, and don't put them in stressful situations.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Francis: We travel so much now, I’ve also learned a lot about dog behavior and am doing a behavior course currently.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Francis: Loki is awful for counter surfing 🤣 so one day my mate's parents came down for a BBQ and he licked the flour off the top of all the baps 🤣
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Francis: For me, it’s education. From seeing people cross over from using aversive tools and punishments on their dogs to a reward-based approach, to people diagnosing their dogs with hidden pain they never knew they had 🥰 We’ve changed a lot of dogs' lives, and I am proud every time we get a DM about people we’ve helped.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Francis: Travel. My plans this year are to build a portfolio on reactive dog-friendly places and then lean into that niche more in 2025.
