Today we got the honor of interviewing Martyna (Pompon's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Delewska: It all started as a puppy diary. We meant to create this space full of memories of our first ever dog - a beloved corgi. That breed haunted me for years. Everything had to be corgi-themed. And during the pandemic, the decision was made. It was the best time for us to start a 2+dog family with our corgi puppy we dreamt of.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Delewska: I know that probably everyone says it, so it won't be surprising - our dog is one of a kind! He's quirky, adventurous, sometimes silly, but most of all he loves cuddles! He's truly our perfect doggo! He never troubled us with anything. Since first night Pom was a true angel. And he's a dedicated dog model! Pompon loves his camera. Anytime we point a phone at him, he poses and waits for treats. We have a whole portfolio of amazing photos we love.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Delewska: I just do whatever feels like fun and achievable for Pom. It's all for him, so I don't want to do anything he won't like. Usually we take the camera with us on walks and magic happens.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Delewska: It's sometimes hard to keep up with all of the trends you see online. I've never been fond of reels for example. I don't use tik tok either, so the whole making-reels-to-be-relatable-and-up-to-date is not for me and I gave up those expectations a long time ago. There're times we do make a funny video to put up on our feed but we prefer photos instead. And if we have to face lower statistics because of it then it's alright. Staying true to ourselves and having fun without the pressure is much more important.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Delewska: Do it for yourself first! The whole point of it is to have fun with that. Don't go for the trends and whatever feels in at the moment. Trends change but your integrity shouldn't. It's all for you and your beloved pup anyway. Your bond is far more important.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Delewska: My whole world revolves around him! Pompon is a relatively healthy doggo but a year ago he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. It's very common for this breed but we were devastated at first anyway. If I'm not with him in a rehabilitation center, I'm constantly looking for other ways to prevent him from feeling ill because of that. I love animals, I have such interests in dogs and their behaviour so I'm reading books, articles all the time. Before Pom I read basically every book there is about dog's behaviour, how to train them and understand them better. It's all for his sake, to make his definitely too short life with us the most wonderful.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Delewska: There were so many of those! All the time we have adventures on our walks together. But there's one video I especially find funny the most. We often go to the woods, we love the silence, atmosphere there. Usually there's no one beside us, so we can have fun and explore together. But they're also wild animals there we often forget about. There was this time that a whole herd of deers crossed out path in the distance. We were kind of scared, whether Pom is going to chase them or not. But meanwhile he was busy rolling around in the mud, not bothered by any wild animal at all! Is Pom a hunting or a shepherd dog? Well, he's just a corgi! We found out long ago that he doesn't care for chasing other animals. He usually doesn't even notice them. Pompon is such an amazing, silly doggo and we love him for that!

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Delewska: I've never liked this term but I guess it has sticked with us. The best thing about it is the sense of community. We have such a great connection to our community that always amazes me. We laugh together, we weep together. We have each other's back. Whenever something bad happens, as with hip dysplasia, we had so many beautiful comments full of support. I read so many similar stories, I got so many advices. I wouldn't have got that if it's wasn't from our followers. You're just never alone and that is the most wholesome thing you can ever imagine.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Delewska: We're constantly working with brands to show our community new health supplements, interesting dog accessories, delicious new treats with discounts. We're here to give our support, bring smiles to people's faces every day. And if it means captioning every little silly rolling in the mud, then so be it. We love it anyway! And the photos that come with it are even more hilarious. Trust me, it's all worth it!
