Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
After losing my beloved Coco, my heart felt shattered, and the mere thought of bringing another dog into my life seemed daunting. Yet, fate intervened when Rico's picture unexpectedly appeared on my feed. He was a rescue from Puerto Vallarta, and something about his eyes spoke to me, as if Coco herself had guided him to me. Despite my hesitations, I couldn't ignore the feeling that Rico was meant to be with me. Little did I know, he would not only mend my broken heart but also become a source of comfort for Itsy, who was also grieving the loss of Coco. In sharing Rico's story, I honor the incredible journey of love and healing that began the moment he entered our lives.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
The uniqueness of my dog stems from his incredible journey and resilience. Unlike many other dogs, he was a rescue from Puerto Vallarta, where he was found on a patio, fighting for survival alongside three other companions. The sheer willpower he displayed in overcoming such dire circumstances sets him apart. His story is a testament to the strength of the canine spirit and the transformative power of love and compassion. Through his experiences, he has forged a bond with me that is unbreakable, reminding me daily of the importance of resilience, kindness, and second chances.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Honestly, just on the fly! With this daily life here with us in Canada! Never a dull moment 😌
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
So far, not yet!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Aspiring dogfluencers should prioritize authenticity and the well-being of their furry companions above all else. Build your platform on genuine connections with your audience by sharing the unique personalities and experiences of your dogs.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
He has helped me with my grief and back out there enjoying life! Knowing that he is living his best life, brings me the utmost joy.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Yes! While filming him, he decides to move his jaw, as we squeak his toy. It makes him look like he’s speaking to us!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Seeing all the other dogs out there living their best life too. I also love connecting with like minded dog moms/parents!
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
We currently have a summer photoshoot in the works, showcasing his wardrobe!
