Today we got the honor of interviewing Nicole (Keona & Cooper's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Sweet:We rescued Keona and her litter of 3 week old puppies summer of 2022. They were too cute not to share and we wanted to bring attention to the importance of fostering to adopt.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Sweet:The fact they are mother and son makes them unique. We found homes with family friends for the other pups in the litter and they sometimes spotlight on the account.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Sweet: The dogs create their own content. I’m just the facilitator. They give me more content then I know what to do with. Plus, dog content makes people smile and we need more of that in today’s world!

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Sweet: I have had a cyber bully or two say rude things. Initially it really hurt my feelings and made me question if I should even be doing this. But, then I decided that’s exactly what they’d want so I try not to let them get to me. Delete and block is my motto for cyber trolls.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Sweet: Just have fun! If it stops bringing you joy then it’s time to reconsider doing it. Be consistent if you can. People love to see your show up daily. If you watch other dog videos you’ll see what’s trending as far as music goes. Do your best to use trending sounds. Rinse and repeat!

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Sweet: As a recent empty nester these dogs have filled a massive void. There is just nothing quite like the loyalty and love of dogs. They are my “fur therapy” which is much healthier than “retail therapy”. Lol.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Sweet: Oh gosh! Too many to choose from! I was videoing a few of the puppies this one time. They all were on a step waiting to get into the house. In complete unison they all fell backwards at the same time. I captured it on video. Couldn’t have planned it any better. Or the time puppy Cooper was making friends with himself in the mirror and then started tinkling on the floor. Have that captured too. Like I said too many to choose from.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Sweet: Making people smile. Period. exclamation point.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Sweet: Hoping for a puppy reunion this upcoming summer with the rest of the litter! Otherwise, Keona & Cooper will be roadtripping with us whenever possible and we will be creating content as we adventure!
