Today we got the honor of interviewing Stacy (Hoss & Signey's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Thompson: Just a fun way to connect with other owners of the same breed. To share fun pictures with the different groups. To have a group of support for questions, concerns, other dogs that may have experiences.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Thompson: They are just fun, full of shenanigans and people seem to love bulldogs.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Thompson: For the most part I kind of just post what I know I would like or think is funny/cute/entertaining.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Thompson: No, I have been very fortunate. Most of my followers are other dog accounts and everyone has been extremely supportive.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Thompson: I really don't have any great advice except to have fun with it and enjoy your dogs. Sometimes the best posts are the ones you didn't try so hard to stage or make perfect. Show your dogs personality and let others love them the way you do.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Thompson: They are family, they are very in tune with our emotions and are full of unconditional love!! Our male has become an emotional support dog for my husband who is a combat veteran. Although he was not trained for this service, Hoss's loyalty brings comfort to my husband when he struggles with his PTSD.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Thompson: It is always complete chaos!! They are stubborn and do what they want when they want, we usually end up with an audience if we are trying to get a picture in a public place. Photo shoots are always full of laughs and they love the attention!!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Thompson: I enjoy meeting new people from around the globe with the same interests and getting to know them and their dogs!!
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Thompson: We will soon be having a litter of puppies, so we are excited to share the journey of birth, how mamma is handling her first litter, and following the babies as they grow up.
