Today we got the honor of interviewing Rachelle (Navi & Maeve's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Crevier: I originally started the account so I had somewhere to post the mass amounts of puppy/dog photos I was taking of our then new puppy, and it quickly grew from there. I had no idea that such an amazing community of like-minded individuals existed until I made that decision, and as we got more immersed in the community, it's kind of how we started getting into the influencer side of things. Seeing other accounts that I looked up to etc gave me such a push to grow!

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Crevier: Both girls are your typical goofy goldens, but I think what sets us apart from others is our lack of a plan for the page and content we create (no seriously, I mean it!). It has kind of turned into a jumble of all things that makes us, us. From books, dog content, navigating motherhood and toddler life with dogs, etc. I get DMs quite often about the love of showing the realness of what all of this is and what the journey entails.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Crevier: Honestly, there is no creative process here. Most of our photos aren't overly staged or posed. I like to just go out with the camera and whatever it is we need to get content of and just let things take its course. I get inspired by the moment!

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Crevier: The biggest challenges for us would definitely be posting enough to stay relevant and engaging. Because let's be real, life in general is so busy that finding the time for anything social media can be daunting in itself. I definitely fell off a bit, but I'm trying to find that balance between our socials and real life. It honestly is such a struggle!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Crevier: Go in without expectations, and be true to who YOU are. Do the things that make you happy, and not what grows your engagement. Social media and influencer growth can be so demanding and sometimes feel like a chore if you don't seriously have your heart in it. Always stay true to yourself and your values, and keep it fun!

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Crevier: I always thought us to be an outdoorsy family, but until we got the girls? Boy were we wrong. Having the girls has opened our world to such a wide range of activities and opportunities, and I am so grateful for both of them.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Crevier: The one that sticks out the most for me would have been last summer for sure. Our toddler was just walking around and was super interested in the girls (Navi in particular) and posing for the camera. They were being super cute in the backyard one day and I was snapping photos left, right and center. I also conveniently forgot about the pool in our backyard, and while trying to snap that 'perfect shot' ended up going completely backwards into the pool. Saved the camera though! Only thing that didn't submerge!

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Crevier: My favorite thing is the community and the lifelong friendships we've created because of it! We have met some absolutely amazing people because of it, and I cannot imagine my life without them now!

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Crevier: We are hoping to get out adventuring more! Becoming a mom put a bit of a sideline on our planned adventures, but we recently bought a camper that we plan to do a lot of adventuring in this year, and hope to expand on our brands with this!
