Today we got the honor of interviewing Klaudia (Willa's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Mihalova: Willa is the dog of our dreams. Even though I didn't grow up with dogs, I always knew I wanted one. Sharing her adventures on social media started as a way to keep our family and friends updated with our favorite photos and videos of her.
But as time went on, it became so much more than that. Documenting Willa's journey has become a true passion of mine. It's not just about sharing cute moments; it's about capturing her growth and personality.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Mihalova: I feel that Willa’s big personality and sass sets her apart. She's not shy about making her desires known and isn't afraid to boss you around a bit. Sometimes, it feels like she truly believes she's one of us humans!
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Mihalova: Our approach to creating content isn't super strict, but I like to keep an eye on what's trending by checking out Instagram or TikTok. A lot of our best ideas come from just hanging out with Willa day to day. Seeing her little quirks, habits, and reactions often spark inspiration for content that resonates with other dog parents.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Mihalova: No, we haven't faced any challenges or negativity on social media. We've been fortunate to have a supportive and positive community following Willa's adventures.
If there have been any downsides, I've occasionally caught myself comparing our content and such. But I've come to understand that staying true to what you believe in is key. When we prioritize authenticity, everything else tends to fall into place smoothly.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Mihalova: Keep it real. Don't let the numbers or brand partnerships overshadow the joy of sharing your dogs adventures. Stay true to the bond you have with your pup and share that genuine connection with your audience. I feel like that is way more admired.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Mihalova: Willa has truly taught me to appreciate the little moments in life. Her presence reminds me to stay present in the moment and cherish every second we spend together. With her by my side, every moment becomes meaningful, and she makes everything worth it.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Mihalova: Willa is a total social butterfly – she's friendly and loves everyone she meets.
During our photoshoots, Willa gets super focused when there are treats around. She'll sit and strike a pose for the camera, showing off all her tricks, even if you just asked her to sit. She's a smart cookie haha.
On our adventures, Willa always manages to make people laugh. She's got this funny habit of picking the most unexpected places to do her business – like on top of hills. It never fails to bring a smile to people's faces as they pass by. She's pretty particular about where she goes 😂
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Mihalova: One of the best parts about being a dog influencer is getting to support all kinds of businesses, big and small. It's really fulfilling to share products and services I genuinely love and believe in.
But what I love most is the friendships I've made with other dog parents. Thanks to Willa, we've met some amazing people who have become our closest friends. I'm so grateful for the support we've found in the dog community.
Overall, sharing Willa and my creative side with our followers brings me so much joy. Capturing her unique personality and journey and connecting with others who love dogs as much as we do is just amazing.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Mihalova: Looking forward, we're excited about longer hikes this summer and the possibility of exploring new sports. We believe Willa would thrive at barn hunting, and we can't wait to see her in action.
We're just eager to keep sharing what we love, being creative, and embracing every step of this journey. Ultimately, our goal is to keep bringing joy to fellow dog lovers.
