Welcome to the ultimate destination for dog enthusiasts and social media mavens alike. At Dogfluencers, we're passionate about showcasing the best and brightest in the world of four-legged fame.

Whether you're looking for adorable photos, heartwarming stories, or expert tips on how to turn your own pup into a social media star, we've got you covered.

Today we got the honor of interviewing April (Poppy's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Hunt: Poppy is a fluffy cloud of chaos with a heart full of tennis balls and a belly full of chicken. Inspired by her quirky antics and her obsession with wearing pajamas, I couldn’t resist capturing every one of her goofy shenanigans and sharing them with the world. My fiancé and I always joke that she is a little human in a very fluffy disguise and sometimes, we truly wonder if she actually is.

Some of my inspiration comes from Poppy herself, but others come from Oakley and Barnaby (@oakleydoodlegram). Oakley and Barnaby’s page became a place where my fiancé and I would turn to for product recommendations, training tips, grooming tools, and other fluffy content. Not only did they help us navigate the world of owning a doodle, but they inspired me to capture as many moments of Poppy’s life as I could. I want Poppy’s pages to be a place where others can enjoy her quirkiness, and where I can document her chaotic life and unwavering love for Chuckits! and benebones.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Hunt: Poppy captivates her audience on social media with her endearing goofiness and distinct personality, setting her apart from other dogs in the digital realm. What makes Poppy truly unique is her ability to convey her individuality through her charming shenanigans and heartwarming demeanor. Every post and video shared on @woof.itspoppy radiates a sense of joy and authenticity, as well as serves as a cherished digital scrapbook for us.

What also sets Poppy apart and keeps our followers captivated is her genuine adoration for products like Chuckits! and Benebones, as well as her endearing obsession with wearing pajamas and costumes. Whether she is dressed as a pig or is wearing cozy pajamas, Poppy’s wardrobe choices never fail to elicit smiles from our audience!

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Hunt: Our creative process for Poppy’s posts and content is deeply rooted in authenticity. It is a blend of spontaneity and inspiration drawn from our daily interactions with her. We often find inspiration in Poppy’s natural antics, quirky habits, and unique personality traits. We believe in capturing genuine moments that reflect Poppy’s true personality and the bond we share with her.

We prioritize capturing Poppy in her natural environment, whether she is chasing a ball in the backyard, cuddled up on the couch in her pajamas, or exploring new adventures. We strive to showcase the real Poppy – the goofy, lovable pup that brings so much joy into our lives. Our creative process is fueled by our genuine affection for Poppy and our desire to share her silly behaviors with others.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Hunt: While navigating Poppy’s social media journey, we’ve encountered a few hurdles, including receiving some negative direct messages and comments. However, these challenges haven’t had a significant impact on us or her social media accounts.

When negative comments arise, it's essential to recognize that followers may not truly know Poppy beyond what they see on social media. While our posts and videos provide glimpses into Poppy’s life and personality, they only capture a fraction of who she is. As Poppy’s parents, we have the privilege of knowing her inside and out. We understand her likes, dislikes, routines, and triggers. We know how she likes her breakfast and what type of treat she enjoys in her snuffle mat. We have a deeper connection with Poppy that extends past social media, and our goal remains to share glimpses of Poppy’s life, while fostering a positive and supportive community around her.

Ultimately, our goal is not just to entertain or attract followers but to create a digital scrapbook for ourselves. Poppy’s social media account was created merely by accident. We enjoy posting silly content of our fluffy girl so we are able to look back and relive the memories.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Hunt: Just go for it! We started @woof.itspoppy because we simply wanted to capture as many special moments with Poppy as we could. Each post, photo, and video serves as a snapshot of a moment in time, allowing us to reminisce. It is a way to reflect on her growth throughout the puppy stage and our journey as two people, adopting a puppy in their 20s.

Browsing through Poppy’s pages never fails to bring a smile to my face. My family and friends are able to stay connected and updated on her adventures, even for those who may not have the opportunity to see her in person frequently. It’s not about the followers or the amount of views; it’s all about creating a little bit of happiness and sharing it with others. Poppy’s lovable personality resonates far beyond our home!

Push past the doubt and create the account. Start snapping those adorable pictures and share the love for your furry companion with the world. You don’t need fancy cameras or big adventures to create content. All you need is your fluffy friend! I promise you – their playful demeanor and endearing behavior will be enough to make someone, somewhere (even you) smile!
