Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Grace: When I first made my instagram account, my dog wasn’t a service dog. That was mid 2021. I had been training him since the end of 2020 and he fit the temperament that a service dog would need. In March of 2022 I started having more and more outings with him as a service dog. He’s for my autism, PTSD, Anxiety and other mental illnesses. He also helps me with my mobility at times. He has really changed my life and I’m not sure where I’d be without him.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Grace: He’s a service dog, I post stories on instagram very frequently. I share my experience as a service dog handler on my tiktok account as well (@working.k9.queso).

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Grace: I make a lot of educational posts, and share photos of my dogs journey as a service dog. I share places he’s gone too, how his training journey has been, and how he’s progressed as a service dog.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Grace: Unfortunately I have. I had a video blow up on tiktok in February of 2023 (had over 13 million views) and I had a few accounts that were made that were saying things that weren't true. Luckily, the accounts were removed!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Grace: Share the positives of owning a dog, and the negatives! Make sure you’re careful on what you post on social media.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Grace: He’s my service dog and saves my life every day.

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Grace: He loves going to the beach and trying to eat the crabs. He likes to dig in mud puddles and tries to dig at rocks at the beach.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Grace: I became friends with so many people on social media who I wouldn’t have found if it weren’t for my dog.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Grace: I’m hoping that in the future I post more videos to educate others on service animals.
