Spring Dog Treat Recipes
Spring is finally here and we couldn't be happier to see some warmer, sunnier days! While most of our time will be spent running around outside, our pups will definitely be working up an appetite - try whipping up some of these colorful spring treats!
Homemade Peeps Dog Treats
Ingredients:
3 cups oat flour
1 banana
1-3 eggs
1/3-1 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup water
2 tsp honey
Pink, Blue, Purple, and Black Food Coloring

Directions:
- Mix until well combined. Keep adding an egg, and 1/3 cup of peanut butter, and mixing until mixture reaches the constancy of cookie dough.
- Roll out flat, about 2 cm thick.
- Use your bunny cookie cutter and cut out bunnies until all your dough is used up.
- Lay on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and greased.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Let cool.
- Next add your cornstarch, water, honey, and pink food coloring to a mixing bowl.
- Mix until well combined. (You can add more water if the mixture is too stiff. The mixture will be runny while stirring and stiff when left sitting.
- Repeat with each color.
- Add each color icing to a pastry bag.
- Cut the end of the pastry bag off, and ice each cooled dog treat as shown.
- Let icing harden.

Blueberry Frozen Dog Treats
Ingredients:
3/4 cup blueberries
3/4 cup Greek yogurt (preferably low fat)
1/2 banana
Directions:
- Add all ingredients into a blender or food processor. Blend until fully incorporated, about 90 seconds.
- Pour into molds. Freeze until solid, about 5 hours.
- Remove from molds and give as treats.
Strawberry Banana Dog Treats
Ingredients:
1-1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup oats
1 ripe banana, mashed well
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
5-6 strawberries, hulled & diced
1 egg, beaten well
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the flour, oats, mashed banana, peanut butter, strawberries, and egg together until well combined. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour as needed.
- Working on a floured surface, knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Use more flour as needed.

- Place into oven and bake until the edges are golden brown, about 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Store in a sealed container for 3-4 days or in a zip lock bag in the freezer. Enjoy!
