With the cancellation of public gatherings, shelters are limited in opportunities to host events to find new fosters for dogs in need. Fostering a dog is always a great idea, but Best Friends Animal Society is calling for an increase in fosters to prevent overcrowding in shelters. The regular intake of dogs who need homes has not decreased, but the number of people heading out to adopt/foster has. With more dogs in shelters comes more mouths to feed, more hands on deck to keep shelters clean, and a serious need for fosters and adopters.

The increase in WFH’ers due to coronavirus opens up more opportunities for people to use this time at home to save a dog’s life.
