Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Clark: My best friend had started an instagram for her puppy and became a dog influencer very quickly. After hearing about how fun it was I decided to start an instagram for my puppy Clovis too! Sharing videos of him growing up and his current adventures has been so much fun, and it's been great to have gained other dog friends through Instagram's community!

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Clark: I think Clovis is different from other dogs on social media because he is such a handsome boy. He has a unique look with his copper coat color plus his bright green eyes. He also is so stinking hilarious! We have captured so many funny videos because of his silly personality. He keeps us on our toes constantly and we never know what he will do next, and I think that's why our followers love him as well.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Clark: Sometimes it's really easy to come up with content ideas. For example, sometimes Clovis will just do something funny and I was able to get it on video. But sometimes it can be difficult, if I don't have a ton of good B-roll or there's no funny trending audios I can sometimes hit a creative block. Sometimes I can get slightly burnt out trying to create good content because my profession is actually social media management, so I'm constantly creating content for my clients, that by the time I get to Clovis' account I have no ideas. But thankfully, most of the time Clove's personality always helps me spark something!

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Clark: Absolutely! A couple of videos I have posted have gotten a lot of hate. The internet is a crazy place and at the end of the day there's always gonna be someone that doesn't like you, but it's just important to not let a comment or someones opinion stop you from doing something you love! I've also faced challenges with partnerships with brands, and most of the time, it's because the brand doesn't quite understand how social media works. So we've learned that it's important to work with brands that understand how social media influencing works before we get into partnerships with them, it leaves a lot less room for disappointment on both sides!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Clark: I would say the most important thing would be consistency and quality. To grow your account people want to see quality content, so find what makes your dog unique and start creating content you personally would like to watch if you were scrolling on social media. Then be consistent with that quality content. I started seeing a lot of growth on Clovis' account once we started really putting in the effort with those two things. I would also say it's also very helpful and rewarding to turn followers into friends! Having people that support what your posting makes a world of a difference. With that said, make sure you are also contributing to the algorithm, don't post and ghost!! Instagram LOVES to see you are active with others.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Clark: My goodness! He has turned my whole life around, but in the best way possible. When I got him as a little 8 week old puppy I feel like my mother instincts kicked in right away. I was up all night with him, training him everyday, disciplining, it was A LOT of work. I got the puppy blues for a while, and thought I would never have time for anything else again. But now he is the best dog. Before getting him I feel I was very self-focused but he's taught me how caring for others is so much more rewarding. He shows me so much affection everyday and is always making me smile with something silly he does. I love you Clovis!

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Clark: One time when we were shooting for a brand deal I was trying to get him to stay in front of the product. I think he got really mad at me for making him stay there so long because he decided to pee all over the product right in front of me while I was filming.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Clark: Creating content that brings a smile to someone.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Clark: If Clovis' account continues to grow I'm hoping to quit my job and do content creation full time. I would love to start traveling more places and create new fun content with him!
