Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Millares: As an influencer myself, I’m already used to sharing on social media about me and what I do in life. Before having Chanel, I’d always watch and look at other dogs on social media. I mean, who doesn’t enjoy looking at close animals on social media. So when I finally had my own puppy, I wanted to share to the world the happiness and cuteness I capture to make others happy as well.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Millares: What makes Chanel interesting besides the fact she’s really cute, she’s smart and super silly. She loves dressing up and going on errands with her mom as if she was a mini me. Her most favorite hobby is shopping of course! She loves the mall!
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Millares: The way I come up with Chanel's posts and content ideas is when I think of something that would be a good video or idea, I take notes right away so then I won’t forget. I usually brainstorm and think of the content flow ahead of time, then on a free day, that’s when I shoot the content(s). Usually I edit the video within the same week.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Millares: So far on on social media, I haven’t faced any challenges or negativity for Chanel's accounts, but if I did, I probably wouldn’t let it get to me since I’ve been on social media for so long. You can’t please everyone, as long as you’re not offending anyone, then do whatever makes you happy.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Millares: My advice would be to just do it. Even if the photos or videos are just silly and not “aesthetic”, post them. You never know how many people you make happy just by posting those simple photos and videos. Plus, it’s like you’re keeping an online photo album that you can always look at.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Millares: My dog influenced my life outside of social media by showing me if you’re with the right person, it doesn’t matter where you are as long as you’re with them. I used to go out almost every day. To the mall, parties. Everywhere. Then when Chanel came into my life, I’d rarely go out anymore. Only if it’s for work or errands. I became a homebody wanting to be at home with her whenever I can. Then whenever I would be out, I’d hurry to go home so then I can be with her.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Millares: Something that I could never forget was when I brought her to the mall to do a little halloween shoot, she kept chasing the little kids and would greet everyone for belly rubs. She was in her Snow White costume, and it was so cute cause she would just run up to everyone as if she knew them.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Millares: My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is shooting contents Chanel. It’s another way of bonding with my fur baby. And from all the content we get to do, we’re making so much memories together.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Millares: We’re just going to keep on posting hoping to bring smiles to other peoples faces. We’ll be going to the beach together this year and it will be her first time so I’m so excited to share that experience with you guys! We have a couple projects coming up soon so hope you guys stay tuned as we can’t give out any info yet.
