Today we got the honor of interviewing Hilda (Teddy & Cooper's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Castillo-Landrum: I started my Instagram page after my beloved fur daughter Lily passed away from heart cancer in early 2023. I was depressed and broken and needed something happy to pull me out of my funk. Capturing moments of my living fur babies so I’d never forget anything silly or sweet they did and sharing them as a photo album helped.

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Castillo-Landrum: The irony of how my little Frenchie is the “mean one” and my giant Rottweiler is the love bug.

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Castillo-Landrum: I honestly just record and photograph everything and random ideas just come to me when I hear a certain song. Music inspires me.

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Castillo-Landrum: Not on my own page yet. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually though.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Castillo-Landrum: Just start. Taking the first step is the hardest and be authentic.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Castillo-Landrum: My pets ARE my life. Literally everything I do revolves around them and their happiness and wellbeing. It’s not a chore though, it blesses me to bless them. :)

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Castillo-Landrum: Going to Yosemite is always a hoot. I live in the foothills of the park, so we go often. People are in one of the most beautiful places in America and they are always stopping to ask if they can take pictures of my pets. It always makes me laugh a little inside.

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Castillo-Landrum: Connecting with others who also love their animals.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Castillo-Landrum: I’m trying to focus more on in person meet ups through group trips and hikes with fur babies included! Take things off the screen and into reality. I also launched apparel and a portion of the proceeds go towards either animal rescue, conservation, or mental health - each design benefits a different cause. :)
