Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Cole: I got Halo during nursing school to be a companion since I was so far away from home in my college town. I love creating content and sharing my life, so of course I took thousands of pictures of Halo and she made it easy being so photogenic. I got the idea to start sharing them on social media since I previously shared my life and content and people were obsessed with how cute she was!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Cole: I like to travel and was living in between home, my college town, and at the Lake during the summer so, of course, Halo got to go all of these places with me. I feel it made her profile unique as I was sharing her traveling and in different settings frequently. She also always had the cutest new bandana and bow sets which were fun to photograph and share.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Cole: As previously mentioned, I am a content creator on TikTok and other social media platforms. I feel I just have a passion for doing that as a hobby and I always love throwing Halo into my creativeness since she is my everything and goes everywhere with me.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Cole: I haven’t faced any negativity. My family and friends are always so supportive of my content and especially the content made of Halo. She’s so cute so what’s not to love?!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Cole: My advice for someone wanting to start sharing their dog on social media is to just go for it. You have to start somewhere. Start snapping pictures and videos and try to match the trending content at the time. I did this with reels on instagram and saw Halo’s account grow quickly! And an obvious tip is to buy them new toys frequently for their fun and content opportunities! Halo loves playing with her toys so she makes it easy for the camera to do its job.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Cole: Halo saved me with the stress that comes with nursing school and college in general. Being away from my family was hard but after I got Halo she made it so much easier being away from home because she started to feel like home. She loves going on rides and gets me out of the house for walks or trips to go get a pup cup. She makes me laugh daily and is there to lick the tears away on the tougher days. She is my everything and I couldn’t imagine a life without her.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Cole: I love capturing Halo when she gets a pup cup. They’ve been her favorite since she was a puppy. She constantly makes me smile and laugh when I see her digging as far as she can into the tiniest little cup of whipped cream. Then her head pops up when it’s gone and her nose is covered in it! I love our rides to do this because I know they make her so happy!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Cole: My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is definitely the amount of photos and videos I have of Halo, especially when she was a puppy. I love reminiscing back on all of the content I got of her when she was a puppy and seeing how much she’s grown, it definitely brings a smile to my face!
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Cole: I am a nurse and am getting ready to start travel nursing! I’m excited for the places we’ll go and all of the pictures and videos that will be taken of Halo girl! We also go to the Lake of the Ozarks every Summer and we can’t keep Halo out of the water! I love capturing these moments to hold onto forever and social media has been a great place to share and store these memories!
