Today we got the honor of interviewing Bridgitte (Iris, Krew, Stevie & Loki's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Whitteker: I loved taking photos, attending dog events, supporting local dog businesses and I had always followed other dog accounts that I loved so when I first got Iris it was a no brainer.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Whitteker: Well first we are a pack of Dalmatians which I feel like you don’t see often. We also like to do a lot of things together like events, sports, traveling & we also like to show what we are up to daily.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Whitteker: We watch what other people are sharing and what’s popular in our target area and like to put our own spin or twist onto it, we like to keep it fun and interactive as much as possible.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Whitteker: Thank goodness our experience has been quite positive, although sometimes keeping up with comments and content can be a challenge with finding time with four dogs.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Whitteker: Don’t try and be better than other accounts, look up to them and learn from them. Also engaging with businesses and friends as much as possible, try and let people relate to your account.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Whitteker: They are the reason I have so many dog mom friends who are passionate about similar things, they have showed me so many adventures that I wouldn’t have probably never went on, they have shown me loyalty respect and love unconditionally and they have taught me to work through problems that may arise.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Whitteker: Yes, I remember one birthday shoot we were taking photos and when we turned our heads Loki had taken the whole cake in his mouth, thank god we were able to salvage enough so that we could still make the shoot happen!
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Whitteker: All the people and dogs we meet, the adventures we go on, and sharing things we are passionate about with our followers.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Whitteker: We are looking forward to the summertime, we like to do Standup paddleboarding and we are going to try and camp with all four dogs this year! We would like to start a couple new partnerships to take along our adventures this summer, we are thinking maybe a couple giveaways, Iris’s 4th birthday is coming up in June so something for that of course!
