DOGFLUENCERS: Meet Charlie the Little NYC Floof And Paige
Welcome to the ultimate destination for dog enthusiasts and social media mavens alike. At Dogfluencers, we're passionate about showcasing the best and brightest in the world of four-legged fame.
Whether you're looking for adorable photos, heartwarming stories, or expert tips on how to turn your own pup into a social media star, we've got you covered.
Today we got the honor of interviewing Paige (Charlie's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Fi: Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Charlie's Human: When Charlie was about 2 years old, I started an instagram for her, mainly as a place where friends and family could follow photos of her (instead of me clogging up my own feed). I never actually expected that strangers and people from all over the world would take an interest in her photos, and eventually videos. She had quite the bold personality and it showed, even online.
When I adopted my second dog, Sawyer, our existing fans became quite infatuated with the relationship and special bond between both of the dogs, and their content started to go "viral" and gain more followers and exposure. From there it was history. But I never intended to make my dog(s) famous when I started the account. I never even imagined how far it could go, but I am so glad it did.
Fi: What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Charlie's Human: Charlie and Sawyer each have/had their own personality, and the way they came across on social media individually and together really told a story. Charlie is an alpha female, and all of her followers know it. She is bossy, demanding, and can outsmart anyone.
She also believed that anything given to her sister was really hers. Like I said, total alpha. Sawyer, who passed away earlier this year, was the sweetest, most gentle dog that you could ever meet. She gave in to every one of Charlie's demands. She was calm, smart, silly, and very gentle. She loved being part of everything but always let Charlie do her thing and "shine."
Their followers and fans really resonated with each of them, and would share stories of how they were the same, whether that meant bossy or submissive. Each dog had a place in their hearts.
Fi: How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Charlie's Human: The dogs really are my source of inspiration. The key is not making them do things, but rather observing and capturing what they are already doing, and finding the uniqueness and humor in it. I could watch them and laugh at them all day. The daily antics were enough to create viral content.
Fi: Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Charlie's Human: There is constant negativity on social media, no matter who you are. The best is to ignore it and not engage.
Fi: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Charlie's Human: Don't go into this thinking "I want to make my dog famous." I don't think that will ever work in your favor. Have fun with it, do what works naturally for your pet, and never put them in a position that could be dangerous or harmful to get the content you want.
Fi: What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Charlie's Human: I love the community. The people I have met, connected with, spoken to. The opportunities and the experiences that come from that. It has added a level of excitement and spontaneity to my life that I do not think I would have had otherwise.
Fi: Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Charlie's Human: When I lost Sawyer earlier this year from an aggressive cancer, it forced me to slow down and take a well needed break from the bustling schedule that the dogs once had. Charlie is enjoying more of a "retired" lifestyle these days.
She still has many fun opportunities and events and dedicated followers who ask about her every day, but I try to say "no" to more things lately than "yes." She turned 10 and I would love to be able to let her enjoy her golden years as she pleases. I still capture everything that she does though, of course, because she is endlessly entertaining.
We hope that Paige's story has inspired you to appreciate your furry friend's unique personality and share it with the world! Being a dog influencer is a fun and rewarding experience, but it's important to prioritize our dogs' health and wellbeing as well.
Remember always to create positive, wholesome content that showcases your dog's individuality. And in the face of negativity, it's important to stand up for fellow dog lovers and keep the community positive.
