Fi: Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Mulligan's Human: A good friend and I would always send dog videos to each other. Sometimes we would share a laugh or smile. It was a way for us to connect to each other and support each other when needed too. It inspired me to start sharing videos of Mulligan to do the same for others. I’m a teacher and love helping people however I can.
Fi: What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Mulligan's Human: Mulligan The Maltese is not your typical dog influencer account. Mulligan is absolutely adorable and has his own spin when using trending music and sounds. Our followers love when he talks to them and that he doesn’t take himself too seriously! We promote products in the dog space and beyond in a fun way with quality content. We also value our supportive community of Mulligan’s besties and go live with them on TikTok often! We interact with our followers, build connections, support other creators, and share kindness!
Fi: How do you develop ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Mulligan's Human: My content ideas come from being inspired by current trends, songs, Mulligan’s adorable and funny daily interactions, the message I want to convey, the feeling I want to convey, and sponsorship agreements. I also watch footage I previously recorded and love listening to my followers and their requests too! At times I think of ideas randomly as well! I love creating content and having fun with it
Fi: Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Mulligan's Human: I believe that being kind, being supportive of others in this amazing community, and having an open mind, has helped prevent any major challenges or negativity so far. I am constantly reflecting to grow, learn, and improve each day and plan to face challenges and negativity with this in mind.
Fi: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Mulligan's Human: Make that first post! You will be amazed with how supportive, welcoming, and nonjudgmental the pet community truly is! Interact with other influencers, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to be you. Being an influencer and creator is truly about building a community in addition to your brand. Interact with your followers, build connections, support other creators, and be kind. Also, be kind and patient with yourself. You got this and I can’t wait to see what you share!
Fi: What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Mulligan's Human: My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is connecting with so many different people! We have the most amazing community supporting us, engaging with us, watching our content, and seeing value in our recommendations! Connecting with other dog influencers has also been so special and helpful too! I love getting to talk about our experiences and help however I can! I also love and appreciate trying new products, working with so many different brands, and sharing them with my followers!
Fi: Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Mulligan's Human: We have some exciting collaborations coming up with VIM & VIGR, Eargasm, California Baby, Journee, Bespoke Tails, Pride & Groom, Potaroma, NANOBÉBÉ, Boulder Barks, Baby & Sunshine, 5 Star AF, Pupiboo, Twinklette, and Funny Fuzzy! I also am in the process of creating children’s books featuring Mulligan! We also have some other collaborations in the works that we will be announcing soon!
