Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
From the first day we brought him home, he was such a charismatic little guy, always up to something fun or mischievous! We began sharing his antics and adventures on social media to keep friends and family updated, but soon, other people started following along. Despite being the runt of the litter and surprisingly tiny for a Boxer, Milo's capacity for chaos was astounding. With those little puppy vampire teeth he managed to wreak so much havoc, yet always kept us laughing with his playful Boxer antics and that irresistibly cute face.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
What makes Milo stand out among other dogs on social media? It's his delightful mix of humor, vulnerability, and the authentic ups and downs of daily life with him. From his puppy days, which many followers have witnessed, to his playful shenanigans like claiming the dining table for morning naps or his sneaky escapes, Milo always brings a good laugh. His pawing at me for endless attention highlights the playful neediness typical of Boxers. His escape artist feats and nurturing demeanor add layers to his personality. Additionally, addressing his reactivity, which is not commonly seen in his breed, raises awareness and adds a unique element to his profile.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
When it comes to developing content for Milo's posts, our process is a mix of spontaneity and careful planning. Milo's playful and goofy nature provides plenty of spontaneous moments that are perfect for capturing authentic, day-in-the-life content. When it comes to showcasing tips or favorite products, like our go-to items for holidays or essentials from Amazon and boutique treats, I plan these posts more meticulously.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
You know, handling different opinions on social media comes with the territory. We get that not everyone is going to agree with us, and that's okay. Whenever Milo sports something new or we share a part of our routine that might be a bit different, it can definitely stir up some reactions. We try to keep things light and use these moments as a chance to chat and clear up any misunderstandings.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Jump into the dog influencer world and embrace the fantastic community it offers. It's a place where you'll find invaluable support and a wealth of knowledge shared by fellow dog lovers. You can look forward to insightful information, fun collaborations, and much more. It's not just about sharing cute moments; it's about connecting and growing with others who are just as passionate about their pets.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Where to even start—Milo was definitely the missing piece in our family. Having always had a dog, I knew the unconditional love and joy they brought, and I wanted that for our girls, especially our youngest, who was too little to remember our previous dogs. My husband was hesitant at first, but he fell in love with Milo immediately. We often joke on Instagram about him being "the spare human," the one who didn't want a dog, yet there he was, walking Milo in the rain with an umbrella.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Milo never fails to make us laugh with his silly antics, especially during our photo shoots. A particularly memorable moment was during his second birthday shoot. I had envisioned a perfect picture of him with his new birthday accessories and a big '2' balloon. Instead, I ended up with a hilarious scene of Milo wildly chasing and trying to pop the balloon.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is the incredible sense of community and connection it brings. Sharing Milo's life not only creates a special bond with followers who love seeing his antics and growth, but it also opens up opportunities to interact with other pet lovers and influencers.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
We have some exciting plans ahead for Milo's social media journey! We're looking into organizing more collaborations with other pet brands for fun themed photo shoots and joint giveaways. We also plan to explore and share more pet-friendly places that are suitable for reactive dogs, providing valuable insights for other pet owners.
