Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Campos: I decided to open her Instagram account when I was hospitalized, it was a really hard time for me and at that moment the only thing that prevented me from going insane was Nina, I wanted to share her daily life and her adventures. Her account was my only focus for almost a month on the hospital and made me want to bear the situation, she saved me in every single way.
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Campos: Nina is a shihpoo (poodle mini and Shih Tzu mix) and it's adorable. She is a very loving dog and I think that people can feel that, she has a very kind heart and her pink style makes her shine even more. We know our followers know her because of their pink style, more than 90% of her things, clothes, and accessories are pink and it's a color that suits her perfectly. You can see the love she can give to everyone through the camera, you can see it in her eyes, we think she is a born model.
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Campos: I don't plan much of her content, sometimes we follow the new trends or have to promote a specific product but we try to always put our touch. Her content is very influenced by me, according to my style and my taste, and it's very natural, we try to not force things, and that's why we try to always take pictures of her on a daily basis when she wants to. I'm an art and design student, majoring in graphic design so everything I'm learning or discovering I'm trying to apply to her account.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Campos: Honestly no, we were so lucky to have a beautiful community here in Peru, they received us with open arms and gave us lots of love, we met so many wonderful people behind social media and incredible humans behind some brands! We also receive this love and kindness from other countries and we are so happy for that as we try to always give a lovely and happy place on social media. We are full of joy and very proud of our growth in less than a year since we opened our social media on June 2023.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Campos: Be true to who you are and your own style, you can inspire your content from new trends or other accounts but never copy them or try to be someone else. Don't force your dog to do things or take pics they don't want, find what works for you and what's best for your dog. And welcome to the community! I hope that you and your dog are well-received and don't forget that this is a lovely and happy place, continue to spread the positivity on this side on social media.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Campos: Nina inspires me every day, when we go out she is a social butterfly, and I learn a lot from her, she taught me patience and to value all the small things, made me enjoy nature, and accept myself as who I truly am. She brings the best in me so that's why I'm trying to be a better person and a better dog parent, so I can give her the life she deserves and needs.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Campos: A memorable moment was her first professional photoshoot, she was selected as a model and we were so excited, she did a great job and the team was amazing. Nina was feeling very comfortable and even lay down and looked like a baby seal on the floor! She was so adorable and the photos turned out beautiful.
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Campos: I think the best part is being part of a community, we learn from each other and talk about our experiences, exchange tips, and always try to be a better dog parent so we recommend what works for us, like our change to natural food and the importance of positive and respectful education for our dogs. It's also amazing to meet people with the same interests and values and to know more about the incredible people behind a brand, we are so happy to have new friends thanks to social media.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Campos: We have a special business project in progress, it's still a secret but we are so excited, I'm working hard and learning a lot to make it happen, and hopefully, it will change our lives. We also want to have more of Nina’s model side, so we are working on that too, hoping new brands give us the opportunity!
