Today we got the honor of interviewing Christina (Oreo's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.
Here is their story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Relke: Oreo is an American XL Bully - and we want to show the world that this breed is not a dangerous one. Oreo is one of the most gentle puppy and also a very sensitive one. He shows me when he don't want to go near to some people because of their energy. And of course he is a beautiful little star!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Relke: First of all the breed of course. And then his unique colors and eyes, he has a little marble sparkle in his grey-green eyes just like mine. I am half blind and have a white dot on my iris. So we look quite similar haha
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Relke: I am running my own agency for photography/ content and social media management. So we are just in a creative flow and somehow Oreo is a funny clown - sometimes i just have to record him and he will give me something to laugh.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Relke: No we had some negativity in real life with people who say he is a dangerous one just because of his look but we have an official letter of our german legacy that he is not put on a list, so he pays same taxes like a golden retriever. But on social media he is so loved.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Relke: Just embrace your puppy and show it to the world. A dog with an outstanding character will grow his fan base on his own.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Relke: Oreo makes me happy, every single day, every second. I am so glad that i found a best friend who is as loyal as I am and we share every minute together, except I have to go to the grocery. He can come with me when i have a shooting and I never leave him alone.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?
Relke: One of the most memorable thing is that he eats literally EVERYTHING! We had a big problem with socks especially. When he was a little puppy he had stolen my socks and chewed them. That's what we made a reel about and got over 1,5 mio views. Not funny at the time he ate them but afterwards when everything was fine and the socks came out...
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Relke: We learn a lot about different things like food oder collars. Like Oreo is allergic to chicken and we work with a brand that uses insects in their food. This is awesome for Oreo because he has no allergic reactions to this and gets a lot of proteins.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Relke: We have some plans for short movies this year so be ready to follow @oreo.thexlbully
