Here is his story:
Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Hubbard: I started making videos out of boredom at the start of the pandemic. At the time I wasn't working and needed something to do to pass the time. I started making some videos and they blew up overnight!
What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Hubbard: Gracie embodied self-love, confidence, and being yourself. I think our followers saw that from the videos. Everything we posted was made to make people laugh and some videos were super relatable where people often said "me."
How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Hubbard: The internet is all about trends. I would often see trends pop up and think to myself "How could we Gracie-fy this." Often times we would reinvent the trend and put our own creative spin on it! I harped on pop culture and current events happening in the news a lot as well.
Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Hubbard: Like many other pet influencer accounts, yes. The big thing was "animal abuse." I even went as far to secure a certification that proved "No pets were harmed in the making of these TikToks." It was tough to think that some people perceived that, but I knew it came from a place of love for animals. I would often reach out to those accounts with fundraisers or charity events directed towards fighting real animal abuse.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Hubbard: Have fun! Running a pet influencer account will bring you the happiest times of your life. Nothing better than having your best friend be your manager lol.
How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Hubbard: My dog gave me the confidence to prove I can do anything I set my mind to. If I can get over 2 billion views from a pet account, what else can I do?
What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Hubbard: Bringing joy and happiness to a world that's so divided. Funny pet videos are something everyone loves, and making people laugh is the greatest joy.
Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Hubbard: Gracie Passed away in November 2023. I recently got a new dog named Garrett, and he's excited to make his debut in 2024 <3
