Today we got the honor of interviewing Jessica (Sloan's Human). You can find a direct link to their Instagram here.

Here is their story:

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?

Vitolo: What inspired me by becoming a dog influencer was the launch of my online dog boutique shop! The name and inspiration came from my dog Sloan- it is named after her. The purpose of creating the site was and is to grow that way we can be more involved with our local animal shelters. (where we adopted our Sloan)

What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?

Vitolo: What makes us unique is we show off our unique accessories and products, Sloan is a rescue mix dog so we are showing that side of dogs. There are so many pets in need and rather than going to a breeder we are showing off all the pets in shelters. We are also giving tips on homemade treats as well!

How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?

Vitolo: A lot of the content we put out is based on looking at popular sounds that are trending along with getting inspo from other dog influencers! Everyone is so unique and has great ideas so I like to see what people like! And I also just like posting everyday cute organic pictures and videos of Sloan to keep it flowing nice!

Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?

Vitolo: I am lucky we have not handled any negativity on social media- if we were I like we would handle it as a learning experience and just tend to ignore and keep doing what we love! A challenge we do face is getting that large engagement with other pages and organically falling on peoples FYP pages.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?

Vitolo: Some advice I would give is to be authentic and show off your dog to really show who they are and what make them special! Stay active on other peoples pages too for great interaction.

How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?

Vitolo: My dog has really taught me how to be the best version of myself. she has taught me how to take care of someone other than myself, she has taught me how to be protective of others and to be mindful. My dog truly influenced me how to really love someone as crazy as that sounds!

Can you tell us about a particularly memorable or funny moment you've had with your dog during one of your photo shoots or adventures?

Vitolo: The best part of taking Sloan's pictures is her little side underbite! it is the CUTEST! especially when you say CHEESE the tooth automatically pops right out

What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?

Vitolo: My favorite thing about being a dog influencer is spreading awareness to shelter animals and how great of a choice they could be! and bringing awareness to some great products for pets.

Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?

Vitolo: Some exciting work we have is a couple of pet events where we get to be in the public selling some great product and spreading awareness and donations to shelters!
