Here is their story:
What inspired you to start or become involved with this rescue organization?
Dymersky : I am the founder of the rescue. My first rescue dog Tucker I had inspired me to start the rescue and be able to help other dogs that are homeless.
Can you tell us about a particularly memorable rescue mission or adoption story that stands out to you?
Dymersky : That's a great question. I have lots of stories to tell. :)
What are some of the biggest challenges you face as a rescue organization, and how do you overcome them?
Dymersky : I would say the biggest challenge is funds. Being a non-profit organization, we depend on donations, grants, and fundraising. This is not always as easy as it sounds.
How do you select the dogs that your organization takes in, and what criteria do you use for adoption?
Dymersky : We have a strict criteria when it comes to pulling dogs. We want them to be good family-oriented dogs. Good with dogs and kids are huge. We ask for videos of the dogs with other dogs on leash and off, cat testing, kid testing, and we even try to have the dogs go into foster homes before coming up north to prepare in the home environment.
In what ways do you work to rehabilitate and socialize dogs before they are adopted?
Dymersky : We always have fosters up north for the dogs. They never go into a kennel environment once they arrive here. We have different behavioral trainers we work with if needed or we make sure to put the dogs in fosters where we know they will get very well socialized.
What role do volunteers play in your organization, and how can people get involved?
Dymersky : The volunteers can do many different roles. And we are always looking for fosters and volunteers to help work the transports, events, fundraising, screening etc. They can contact us by emailing info.fetchinghearts@gmail.com.
Can you share some success stories of dogs who were once in your care and have now found loving forever homes?
Dymersky : Yes, we can certainly share plenty of those.
How does your organization collaborate with other rescues, shelters, or animal welfare organizations?
Dymersky : We help other organizations out when they might have a hard time placing a dog. It's all about helping and collaborating.
What initiatives or programs does your rescue have in place to promote responsible pet ownership and prevent pet homelessness?
Dymersky : Our animals are completely vetted and fixed. We make sure that all our animals are microchipped as well. We offer discounts on training services with trainers we work with.
Looking ahead, what are your organization's goals and aspirations for the future?
Dymersky : I would say we would love to be able to save more dogs and have more ways of accepting funds/donations.
