Here is Murray’s story:
Fi: Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Murray’s Human: In July of 2020, during COVID, my business (mostly Bar and Bat Mitzvahs) was shut down. I create logos and provide party swag, so I had a lot of time on my hands. My kids suggested that we create an Instagram account for Murray.
Fi: What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Murray’s Human: He gets a lot of attention because most people have never seen a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. We receive lots of questions about his breed. However, he's most famous for sticking his head out of the sunroof of our car and barking his excitement at people and dogs.
Fi: How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Murray’s Human: I look for funny things to post but we also foster puppies so that also gives us lots of stuff for content.
Fi: Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Murray’s Human: Luckily not too much but there was one post I had with a new puppy and I received lots of mean comments but only on Tiktok not on Instagram.
Fi: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Murray’s Human: Good question! I would say to follow accounts that you like and see what is trending but stay true to what you like to post - don’t be something that’s not you.
Fi: How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Murray’s Human: He is my big baby. We have lots of friends with dogs that we walk with every day twice a day. It’s great to have so many friends who are also addicted to their dogs!
Fi: What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Murray’s Human: I love connecting with other dogs owners but I really love the comments I get from people when they really enjoy a reel or a post. When someone says you made me smile - it makes my day!
Fi: Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Murray’s Human: Could be - stay tuned!
