Fi: Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a dog influencer? What inspired you to start sharing your dog's adventures on social media?
Nyla’s Human: We got our first Vizsla, Indy, during the fall of 2012 when our family moved back to the States after living abroad in Dubai for four years. At that same time, we started to discover Instagram. Indy had such a huge personality and was so regal in front of the camera that I just decided to go for it and start posting. Since then, we've lost our beloved Indy to cancer, and now we have his great-great-niece Nyla, who has an even bigger personality!
Fi: What do you think sets your dog apart from other dogs on social media? What makes them unique or particularly interesting to your followers?
Nyla’s Human: I think it's their ability to actually pose for photos. I am a photographer and they've both let me accessorize them with scarves, hats etc and this has been able to draw a lot of attention to their social media.
Fi: How do you come up with ideas for your dog's posts and content? Do you have a specific creative process?
Nyla’s Human: I usually post something related to the season or particular holidays.
Fi: Have you ever faced any challenges or negativity on social media, and how have you dealt with it?
Nyla’s Human: So far we've been pretty lucky with that. Of course, there is always someone who doesn't agree with dogs in clothes (ha!)
Fi: What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own dog influencer account or share their dog on social media?
Nyla’s Human: Well, now it's so different with Reels and TikTok. Creativity is key!!!! It's important to keep up with the trends but also stay true to your followers and yourself.
Fi: How has your dog influenced your life outside of social media?
Nyla’s Human: Honestly, it sounds cliche, but our dogs show our family unconditional love and companionship.
Fi: What is your favorite thing about being a dog influencer?
Nyla’s Human: Just being able to maybe make someone laugh or put a smile on their face when they see one of the posts.
Fi: Lastly, what's next for you and your dog on social media? Any exciting plans or projects in the works?
Nyla’s Human: I'm always trying to work on personal projects with her....you will have to wait and see what we come up next :)
